⦁ Shintoism, Studio Ghibli, How Hayao Miyazaki portrays women through the use of animation as being protectors of nature and bringing peace between nature and humanity.
⦁ How this links in with shintoism and Japanese the Japanese belief system, the morals and messages are relevant to todays world.
⦁ Strong and powerful young female characters throughout each and every movie.
⦁ Certain females who go against this idea?
⦁ Films to look into regarding the connection of a youthful female character and shintoism: ‘Your name’
⦁ Maternal instinct, younger characters don’t have this issue
⦁ Laputa, village people have been raised in order to survive, don’t respect nature in it’s pure form, but what it must be used for in order to live.
⦁ Old man in the cave, represents dying understanding of shintoism and nature, the stones tell him sad stories, extremely emotive.
⦁ Young adrogynistic characters, perversion is non existent.

⦁ No creative hierarchy in Japan.
