Development
When I started to composit my first scene into After Effects I realised that there are some colouring issues, stupidly I didn’t consider that due to the skin colour being so light I may of not been able to notice that when I was colouring I was going over the lines. And as my backgrounds are predominantly dark, and much darker than the characters colour scheme, the areas I had gone over stood out like a sore thumb. In order to resolve this I reopened Paint Tool Sai and put in a dark background so that I could go over each frame and erase the mistakes. A tedious but necessary task. I’ve also redrawn a few of the scenes that were from the animatic as I needed to work on the form of my character and the inbetweens.
Strengths
Strengths this week have been mainly going over and checking parts of my animation and animatic that perhaps need some more fine tuning, as well as learning from the colour issue that when I continue colouring I will make sure to have a darker background on to make sure I stay within the lines.
Areas for Development
Over Christmas I plan on completely finishing and rendering my animation with backgrounds, After Effects, sound design, credits and a title.
Storyboard Development
This is my storyboard for the collaboration Project so far, I’m really confident in the clarity and scene direction at the moment although I know things can change further along in production. Once I have completed a set of I forward them to Hannah to keep her informed on whats happening and the progress I’m making.
Cleanup
After importing my scenes into after effects I realised that the colouring had leaked out of the lines, this mean’t that because my backgrounds were mainly dark it didn’t look clean at all. I re-opened them in Paint Tool Sai and went over each frame with a coloured background to make sure they were neatened up/

Development
This week I attempted to envision our animation and before storyboarding it I decided to type it out how I would visually see it which means including camera angles and scene changes. This took longer than expected as it really was like picturing a film from scratch as up till this point we didn’t have a clear narrative as to what will happen once the main character enters the ‘underworld’. Once I had typed out everything and was happy with it I sent it to Hannah for feedback and she said she loved it so I will now focus on putting the text into a detailed storyboard.
Strengths
I’m happy with my progress, as I have been the one plotting out the story and scenes it did take longer for me to fully figure out how I wanted to include all the characters and character interaction, as well as making sure emotions and feelings were being translated through clearly to the audience.
Areas to Develop
next week my only aim for this project is to start working on a detailed and easily understandable storyboard as it needs to translate over what I have shown Hannah as well as making sure she can clearly understand the scenes so she can work from them
